Hints for the holidays
Celebrate the season while managing energy costs with these holiday tips:
Expecting a house full of guests? Before they arrive, lower your thermostat to 68 degrees (or lower) to keep everyone comfortable and save on heating costs
Headed to Grandma’s house? Turn your furnace down to 65 degrees when you are away. You can also close blinds and curtains to hold heat in.
Baking for your get together? Keep the oven door shut and check cooking progress through the window. Opening the door for a few seconds lowers the temperature inside by as much as 25 F.

Make sure you have working CO alarms on every level of your home, particularly in or near bedrooms. Minnesota law requires you to place carbon monoxide alarms within 10 feet of any sleeping area in your home.
